24HR Sponsored Walk
Updated: Aug 20
We are still on a high from our sponsored walk, at East Cramlington Nature Reserve.
As we have recently moved from community group to become a registered charity and wanted to start out with a community focused event, get everyone involved and raise funds for the group - safe to say we think this was certainly the case!
Trustees Donna and Leon both managed -
🥇 50.94 miles
👣 110,754 steps
🔥 5,802 active kcal
📍28 laps
⏱️ 24 hours
As well as being joined by around 50 participants and CADRSG volunteers who all contributed to complete 142 laps in total!!
Some who returned 2 and 3 times, for their laps with naps at home between!!
It was amazing to see familiar and new faces taking part with families, friends and dogs! We were blown away by the support, especially during the night when our legs were most tired and all sense had long since disappeared!
Along the way we enjoyed spotting deer, ducks, birds, rabbits, hare, bats, lots of dragonfly and tonnes of other bugs and insects. The squirrels of course decided not to put in an appearance, luckily we definitely know they are about!
East Cramlington Nature Reserve is such a hidden gem and we're always surprised when people tell us its their first visit or they didn't know about it! CADRSG are very proud of all the work we do here to make sure its a lovely space in our little corner of South East Northumberland.
So far we have raised over £1,000 for Red Squirrel conservation.
We are completely blown away and very grateful for everyone who’s donated and been involved!
Thank you to everyone involved and for the support in the work we do!
Now that our legs are rested we are looking for the next challenge!!
